Solidarity, Cooperation

Diogo Almeida

I strongly believe that the future of all the EU Member States lays in a united approach to face the Union’s modern challenges. To me efforts are irreplaceable and more necessary than ever, The European Union should aim to function as a bridge between the European institutions and its citizens. Especially nowadays, when the EU is facing an existential identity crisis and the majority of its citizens feel distant towards the EU, it is of great importance to improve this lack of proximity. Bringing the union closer, drawing on the primordial values of the European Union such as solidarity, cooperation and the very feeling of feeling European are part of the resolution for a future that we must try to build, only in this way the European Union and its Member States can face the challenges that are to come.

Hi Diogo, thank you for your contribution. It chimes very well with what we hear from young people across Europe. Check here: https://youtu.be/vOOpmXQONOo We would be very happy to hear from you how you think European institutions could be closer to Europeans. In our view, one of the ways is to allow Europeans to vote on a candidate for EC President and a programme, like they do in national elections.

She also meant that many good people start accepting bad things that happen, as they simply become used to them and pass them off as trivial and inevitable." Why MEPs none of them aknowledge e-mails received? None of the MEPs respond to e- mails highlighting serious oppression and hostility towards EU Citizens in UK and proof that European Court of Human Rights have been compromised when British consider so called future relationship with the court( read funding it) the President argument is but we are failing most cases against you! MEPs are unreachable. Twitter without DMs and mainly used to advance own political agendas ot slag off opposition. EU Citizens especially in UK are exposed to victimisatin and oppression and no organisation cares( no IMA doesn't).
